Since its inauguration in 2013, it has become a central venue for Perpignan's cultural life. With an exhibition area of almost 650 m² and modular spaces. The Centre d'Art Contemporain offers an exhibition space suited to all types of artistic practice: painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video, performance, new media, and much more.
Eclectic, international programming
The programming of the Centre d'Art Contemporain is distinguished by its desire to explore all facets of contemporary creation. Emphasis is placed on the diversity of artistic approaches and on the importance of cross-fertilization of knowledge and cultures. Exhibitions highlight the work of emerging and established artists, whether regional, national or international in scope.
The Centre d'Art Contemporain aims to stimulate thought and emotion in its visitors, while making contemporary art accessible to all. As such, each exhibition is designed to encourage interaction between the works and the public, creating a lively dialogue around current aesthetic and societal issues.
Current exhibition: "La Menace d'un Idéal", Sylvie Dubal
From now until September 30, the Centre d'Art Contemporain invites you to discover the exhibition "La Menace d'un Idéal" by Swiss artist Sylvie Dubal.
This retrospective explores the unique and unsettling work of this artist, at the crossroads of painting, drawing and writing. Despite the many contemporary artistic movements, Sylvie Dubal has chosen to draw her inspiration from the traditions of the Ancients, revealing a profound connection between soul and body through her pictorial works. Accompanied by literary texts, the exhibition offers an immersion into a universe where introspection and contemplation are at the heart of the artistic experience.
