In conjunction with the Théâtre de l'Archipel, which will present Molière's play "L'Avare" (The Miser) on September 27 and 28, the Musée Rigaud is offering a new guided tour, providing a more complete vision of Louis XIV's role in the development of the arts, based on the museum's Baroque collection, and more specifically on the works of Hyacinthe Rigaud, portraitist of the court of Versailles during the reign of Louis XIV.

THEATRE DE L'ARCHIPEL

L'Archipel is Perpignan's scène nationale, a label awarded to French public theaters by the Ministry of Culture and Communication in June 2012. L'Archipel offers a multi-disciplinary program (theater, dance, circus, opera, classical music, contemporary music, shows for young audiences and contemporary music concerts, as well as a sound and visual creation festival: Aujourd'hui Musiques) and is positioned as a cross-border stage promoting and reinforcing the emergence of a vast space open to the Mediterranean. Its aim is to be a venue for the production and dissemination of contemporary performing arts. L'Archipel has been an Établissement Public de Coopération Culturelle since January 1, 2011, and brings together an archipelago of venues in the city of Perpignan: le Grenat, le Carré and the Elmediator concert hall.
