Presentation

From ancestral transmission to virtuoso dialogue. Four heirs to ancient traditions, Kiya Tabassian on sétar and Constantinople-based Iranian percussionist Hamin Honari, along with the prodigious Shashank Subramanyam on Indian flute and Afghan ribbon virtuoso Homayoun Sakhi, invite us to follow La route dorée. Gathered on the same stage, they will recount the sublime and sophisticated musical paths of the ancient civilizations of Afghanistan, India and Iran, and the networks of exchange established by the Persian Empire 2,500 years ago, forging links between the peoples and dynasties of Europe and Asia. Handed down orally from generation to generation, the music of these cultures appeals to the divine, the sacred and eternity. Thanks to their melodious modes (maqam, dastgâh or ragas), rhythmic cycles and finely calculated, highly complex pulsations, they are today inexhaustible sources of inspiration and beauty. An invitation to a jubilant dialogue, original and permeated by a spirituality rooted in a history stretching back thousands of years.
