The Maison de la Catalanité is located in the heart of Perpignan's cathedral complex.
The building housing the Maison de la Catalanité is the result of a series of alterations: the remains of buildings dating from before the 18th century can be seen, including the square-plan mansion built in 1762, and the transformations brought about by the installation of the diocesan seminary in 1824.
Today, exhibitions and cultural events take place on the first floor, which comprises two exhibition rooms and an inner courtyard at the foot of the cathedral's chevet. On a single level, fully accessible to people with reduced mobility, art lovers and casual strollers alike can combine the discovery of a local artist with daydreaming in the shelter of an inner courtyard featuring an astonishing Judas tree.
