The Convent of the Poor Clares, also known as the Convent of St. Clare, is a large religious building in the town.
The monastery, located outside the city walls, had been ravaged during the siege of 1475. The nuns appealed to Charles V, who had the convent built in the mid-16th century. Its architecture is very medieval: the flat chevet church had the structure of a southern Gothic church. The remains of the cloister feature semicircular arches. Nationalized in 1792, transformed into a civil prison from 1805 to 1986, the building became a communal one.
