The CIP showcases the work of photojournalists from all over the world.
They are witnesses to world history and actors in the cause of freedom of expression.
It was created by the Visa pour l'Image association, which has run Visa pour l'Image, the world's biggest photojournalism festival, since 1989.
Its mission is to defend, promote and develop the photojournalism professions, which are essential to preserving our collective memory, writing our history and defending freedom of expression worldwide.

Throughout the year, the CIP offers a variety of audiences the chance to produce photo reports under the guidance of photojournalists. They cover a range of fields and disciplines, with the aim of facilitating access to information, defining the challenges of photojournalism, and developing a citizen's view of the world.
