Archives municipales Perpignan 2017

Presentation

The department holds modern archives (1789-1940) and contemporary archives (1940 to the present day), as well as an extensive photographic collection, numerous plans dating back to the 17th century, postcards, the complete collection of the newspaper L'Indépendant since 1868, and over fifty private collections.

Three kilometers of documents are currently stored in the Dominican cloister. The ancient archives (from the 12th century to the French Revolution) have been deposited with the Pyrénées-Orientales departmental archives since 1960.

The department holds modern archives (1789-1940) and contemporary archives (1940 to the present day), as well as an extensive photographic collection, numerous plans dating back to the 17th century, postcards, the complete collection of the L'Indépendant newspaper since 1868, and over 50 private fonds (from architects, learned and cultural societies, doctors, military personnel, entrepreneurs, sportsmen and women, exiles, etc.).
